The present lot possibly depicts the island Paquetá, Brasil.

Anne Marie Nivoulies de Pierrefort was born in 1879 in Toulon. During her studies in Paris she had classes from well-known impressionists like Pierre Auguste Renoir and Pierre Bonard. She first came in touch with Mediterranean landscapes when she travelled to Tunisia. In her sixties, she left France for tropic Brazil which landscape became the inspiration for many of her works.
