Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1997 and its subsequent sale on October 28th of the same year.

The present watch reference 5060A was introduced to the market in 1996 as part of the Aquanaut collection. This reference was only produced for one year in stainless steel and with a solid case back before the reference 5066 was introduced in 1997 which is the same watch but with a sapphire crystal display back. Since then many metal and dial variations of the Aquanaut model have been produced although none seem to be as special as the very first reference to ever be produced in the celebrated collection, as seen here.
