Automatic jewelled lever movement, minute repeating on two hammers onto two gongs, white dial, applied gold baton numerals, outer minute divisions, four subsidiary dials for 30 minute register combined with moon phases, date, 12 hour register combined with month, and constant seconds combined with day, aperture for four digit year display between 7 and 8 o'clock, large circular case, wide sloped bezel, repeating slide in the band, two rectangular chronograph pushers in the band, screw down crown, case back secured by six screws and with the inscription International Watch Co., Grande Complication, 2001, No. 15/50, 18k gold IWC buckle, case, dial, and movement signed

The present watch is number 15 in a limited edition of 50 watches.

In the Year 1990 the first Grande Complication was unveiled by IWC at the Basel Fair. The production was limited to only 50 examples per year.

This watch has 659 individual parts of which 568 belonged to the movement, 25 to the dial and hands, 58 to the case and 8 to the strap and clasp. These parts make up 21 distinct functions which includes the minute repeater which chimes beautifully in two tones. This impressive wristwatch also houses a perpetual calendar, chronograph as well as full date display.
