Finely engraved mechanical lever movement, 76 jewels, three-armed one minute tourbillion carriage, minute repeating on two gongs, silvered dial, Roman numerals, four subsidiary dials for day combined with constant seconds, date, month combined with 12 hours register, 30 minute register combined with moon phases, aperture for four digit year display between 7 and 8 o'clock, blued steel and painted red hands, large circular case with wide sloped bezel, sapphire crystal display back secured by six screws and in relief reads; International Watch Co. 1868-1993, Il Destriero Scafusia, No. 112/125, two rectangular chronograph pushers in the band and an additional round button set within the crown, repeating slide in the band, 18k gold IWC buckle, case, dial and movement signed

Accompanied by an IWC 125th Anniversary Certificate confirming the present watch is number 112 in a limited edition of 125 examples, and an IWC International Guarantee dated December 31st, 2001. Further accompanied by an IWC presentation box with lock, product literature, an IWC polishing cloth and outer packaging.

The most complicated watch produced by the International Watch Company, "Il Destriero Scafusia" or the "Schaffhausen Warhorse", was developed for the prestigious firm's 125th anniversary in 1993.

With a 44 hour power reserve and beating at 28,800 beats per hour, this movement offers a vast array of complications, amongst which is a titanium tourbillon cage; the heartbeat of the watch seen through the sapphire crystal display back of this incredibly impressive timepiece. At 42mm with a large and heavy case, this watch offers a huge presence both technically and aesthetically.
