A George III rococo tea urn
on a gadrooned and foliate and scroll-chased square base pierced with quatrefoils and lozenges and on claw and ball feet, the beaded tapering moulded oval body chased with foliage and scrolls and applied with beaded foliate handles, one side with a tap with ivory handle, the front engraved with an armorial, crest and motto, the waisted cover with flame finial, maker's mark indistinct, London 1768 - 20¼in. (51.50cm.), 88oz. gross, extensively repaired and with an inserted metal sleeve, the base apparently unmarked.
