A mid 18th Century Argyle
of cylindrical form, with a polished wood scroll handle, rising curved spout and gadrooned domed detachable cover with stylised artichoke finial, incompletely marked, apparently struck twice with maker's initials and lion passant only, one of the latter marks almost obliterating one of the former, A. Montgomery, London circa 1760 - 4½in. (11.25cm.), 10.25oz. gross.
