A SMALL NORTHERN 'OIL SPOT' BLACK-GLAZED BOWL
NORTHERN SONG-JIN DYNASTY, 12TH CENTURY
The bowl is covered inside and out in a lustrous black glaze suffused with a dense pattern of silver 'oil spots', which ends neatly above the neatly cut brown-dressed foot, all below a wide band of white glaze around the rim.
