A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE 'BUDDHIST LION' CARVING
17TH CENTURY
The lion is carved in a recumbent position, with finely incised tail and mane, holding a brocade ball between its front paws. The stone is of a greyish-celadon tone, with areas of russet inclusions.
