Lot Essay

Reference 570 was produced from 1938 until approximately 1972. The model known as the ‘Grande’ Calatrava was produced in three series. The first with the caliber 12-120 such as the presently offered lot, the second series bearing caliber 12-400 and beginning in 1960 the third series using the caliber 27AM. To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.

Made in 1945, the inside case back of this watch has French hallmarks and it is stamped on the inside case FAB. SUISSE and the retailer mark for Guillermin & Cie.

Similar examples of this model, Reference 570, are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches, by M. Huber & A. Banbery, 2nd edition, p. 169-170.
