Lot Essay

The firm of modellers and sculptors founded by Lewis Brucciani, were joined by Domenico Brucciani (1815-80) in circa1852. The business mostly worked as modellers for the South Kensington Museum (now the Victoria and Albert Museum) and the British Museum, taking casts of items in their collections and supplying other casts.
