Lot Essay

Following the introduction of luxury sport watches, the Overseas was Vacheron Constantin’s reply to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus. Successor to the Vacheron Constantin model 222 designed by Jorg Hysek, the Overseas was launched in 1996 and produced until 2004. Built with a bezel reminiscent of the Maltese cross, the wristwatch allied simple and elegant designs with a robust yet elegant tonneau-shaped case of 37 mm. Offered in excellent overall condition, the present timepiece represents a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to acquire an icon of the Vacheron Constantin manufacture.

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas wristwatch is illustrated in the book Vacheron Constantin - Artists of Time by Franco Coloni pp. 177
