A CARVED FRUIT-NUT NECKLACE
The necklace is comprised of eighteen fruit-nut beads, each carved with a figural scene depicting literati in their scholarly pursuits; the pendant is carved and pierced portraying on one side five aged gentlemen perched on a riverbank admiring the flowing water, the other side with two literati playing chess accompanied by an attendant. One bead is incised with a seal reading Wang shi, 'the surname of Wang', and a signature Junshi.
