Arabic manuscript on paper, 230ff. plus two fly-leaves, 15ll. of black naskh to the page, with gold and polychrome rosette verse markers, sura headings in gold thuluth within black-ruled gold cartouche, text within later probably Qajar borders with gold and blue rules, catchwords and marginal markers overpainted in white, opening bifolio with original black and blue illumination within gold cartouches and text in cloud bands on red hatched ground, in 19th century reddish brown morocco with flap, stamped with Qur'anic verses
Text panel 8 ½ x 5 ¾in. (21.6 x 14.5cm.); folio 12 3/8 x 8 ¼in. (31.3 x 21.2cm.)
