FOGGINI, Pier Francesco (1713-1783). Fastorum anni romani. Rome: Benedictus Francesius, 1779 [colophon dated 1780].
2° (423 x 281mm). Engraved title within elaborate decorative border depicting the months of the year, engraved portrait of Augustus by Robert Audennerd after Carlo Maratti, 7 engraved plates of which one folding, 10 engraved vignettes, one folding table. (Tear to bottom margin of b4, minor repairs to bottom margin of first 10 leaves including title, some light spotting, a few leaves slightly browned.) Contemporary half vellum (lightly rubbed).
An important archaeological work based on the fragments of a Roman calendar discovered and reconstructed by Foggini. Brunet V, 1148.
