2 parts, small 8° (166 x 102mm). Woodcut diagrams and illustrations, one full-page, printer’s device on title and verso of final leaf. (Light waterstaining and some spotting throughout.) Modern half vellum and patterned boards.

First published in Paris in 1518, this account of the astrolabe by the Valencian mathematician and astronomer, Juan Martinez Poblacion, was a flourishing publication for most of the 16th century. The first part described the instrument, the second explained its use in solving problems of astronomy, topography, seamanship, geometry and geography.
