A BLUE AND WHITE AND COPPER-RED-DECORATED BOTTLE VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The vase is decorated with a continuous scene of an open-winged Buddhist lion standing on rocks beside waves, looking at a large bird on rocks, all beneath a copper-red moon amongst clouds. There are two copper-red seals to the base of the neck. There is an apocryphal Chenghua mark to the base.

Acquired in the 1920s by Erik Nordstrom, Sweden, and then by decent.
