A WHITE MARBLE TWO-HANDLED VASE
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The vase is carved with two openwork qilin handles to the neck and two lion-mask handles to the shoulder. The neck is delicately carved in low relief with a roundel of two confronting qilin surrounded by ruyi-shaped clouds, above a shou-character and kui dragon band to the shoulder and a stiff leaf band below. The stone is of an ivory tone with very light cream and grey inclusions.
