The oval cup is flanked by a pair of crescent moon-shaped handles that is carved and pierced with abstract shapes. The exterior body is decorated with a ruyi-form motif interrupted by two animal masks, below a further band of ruyi-heads around the mouth. The interior is delicately incised with a scrolling motif enclosed by a double line border while the base is incised with two phoenix.
