A CARVED JADEITE ‘GRAPE AND SHREW’ INK PALETTE
QING DYNASTY, 18-19TH CENTURY
The palette is naturalistically carved in the form of a grape leaf with undulating and upturned edges growing from a short stem with vines forming the underside base. It is further detailed with two smaller leaves, a bunch of grapes and two shrews. The semi-translucent stone is of dark and pale green tone with some dark inclusions.
