Lot Essay

The arms on the reverse are those of Rohde impaling Hawkins, for Major Rohde (1744-1819) of Leman Street, Whitechapel and his wife Mary (1845-1806), née Hawkins, whom he married at Newnham, Gloucester in 1776.
