The earliest known minute repeating pocket watch with perpetual calendar is dated to 1874 and resides in the Patek Philippe Museum. Less than 100 of these watches are known to the market, of which approximately 60 are pre-WW2. The present example is very special as it is fresh to the market and has never surfaced until now. A treasure, its 18k pink gold case impresses upon first glance, enticing the viewer to look towards its striking enamel dial with Roman numerals and four balanced subsidiary dials. Once engaged through the slide in the band, the repeater chimes with a pure tone that one can only expect from the celebrated Swiss manufacturer. It is interesting to note only approximately 6 of these special watches were made per year due to the need for extreme skill and craftsmanship.
