Lot Essay

The Tourbillon Souverain, another of F.P.Journe's horological masterworks, is distinguished by its complications combining a one minute tourbillon with a remontoir. The remontoir provides a constant force to the balance, hence maintaining an equal rate of force whether the watch is fully wound or not and increasing precision. In the second generation of the Tourbillon Souverain watches, such as the present lot, F.P.Journe added a dead beat second indication. With a 40mm diameter, the black mother-of-pearl dial looks exquisite, in a addition the 18k pink gold movement can be seen through the sapphire crystal display back.
