Two pages bifolium, 319 x 200mm, (partial separation at folds, left margin and weak folds reinforced).

A twenty-one year-old Clive writes of his homesickness for England during his first year in India as a East India Company factor. "I must confess at Intervals when I think of my dear Native England, it affects me in a very particular Manner." This is likely the earliest dated letter of Clive to ever appear at auction and a fine example written early in his storied career.
