A LARGE HUANGHUALI 'TREE TRUNK'-FORM BRUSH POT, BITONG
18TH CENTURY
The exterior of the brush pot is naturalistically carved to imitate a gnarled and knotted rootwood tree. The base is carved with concentric rings to imitate the cross-section of a tree trunk. The wood is of a rich golden brown tone.
