Lot Essay

Dr. Joachim Pissarro will include this work in his forthcoming Catalogue Raisonné of Drawings by Camille Pissarro.

The present work is one of three studies for Pissarro’s 1887-1888 La cueillette des pommes, Eragny. The painting, which is now in the Dallas Museum of Art, was lauded by critics at the sixth annual exhibition of the Cercle des XX in Brussels in 1889.
