PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF YEH CHIE CHUNG (LOTS 901-915)A veteran collector, Mr Yeh Chie Chung (1948-2008) started his collecting journey since the 1970s and had built up an impressive collection of Chinese classical and modern paintings. He immersed himself in various fields of research, with a specialty in calligraphy. Important works from Mr. Yeh’s collection had been on loan to the National Museum of History in Taipei and National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (formerly known as Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung). A man of bold and generous character, Mr. Yeh was one of the founding members of the Ching Wan Society in Taipei, the world’s most renowned association of Chinese collectors, and his friends held a high opinion of him.Fifteen lots of Chinese classical paintings and calligraphy will be offered in this sale, plus another 13 lots (Lots 1262–1274) of modern works to be auctioned in our Fine Chinese Modern Paintings sale on 28 November 2017.
