VIEUX COGNAC, CLOS DU GRIFFIER 1788
Christie’s are delighted to offer an exceptional bottle of 18th century, Vieux Cognac, Clos de Griffier 1788, one of the oldest and rarest spirits we have ever offered. The last time Christie’s sold a bottle of this historic spirit was in London in December 2012, as part of a sale of rare spirits, direct from the cellars of La Tour d’Argent, the legendary Parisian restaurant. This bottle was acquired by the father of the consignor, directly from the restaurant in the 1960s and has remained in the family collection, until release to Christie’s for this auction. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a compelling and historic bottle.
