Ramos Pinto 1934
Douro
In original wooden cases
A dry winter was followed by a rainy spring, leading to late flowering and fruit set. July was very warm and was followed by some rain in September. Harvest took place in October in perfect conditions. This wine was produced from Quinta do Bom Retiro grapes.
Tasting note: Very light almost clear appearance. On the nose ethereal, fine smoky notes followed by hints of rose petals and rhubarb. A fine sweet nose of finesse and elegance. Soft elegant and finely sweet taste, quite intense at the same time. Ripe tannins and acidity on the finish, very well balanced. At first this appears quite light but this is deceiving as the length is very impressive. In feminine elegance. Very lively port with time in hand. Great surprise. September 2017. EV.
