KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Both dishes are decorated in the center with a scene of a scholar on horseback with his attendant against a background consisting of an altar table set with 'antiques', an assembly comprising the 'four accomplishments', a qin, a chessboard, a book and scroll paintings(qin, qi, shu, hua), and a pavilion with fences, all surrounded by a band of floral medallions alternating with groupings of 'antiques'.
8 7/8 and 8 ¾ in. (22.6 and 22.3 cm.) diam.
