This document is issued by the Treasury of Sultan Qaytbay and is in the hand of his major domo (amir ustadar) Taghribirdi al-Qadiri. It concerns the deposition of a sum of two thousand and two gold ashrafi dinars to the treasury by a certain Faris bin ‘Abdullah al-Sayfi Tashbugha as part of a conversion (istibdal) of a pious endowment (waqf) made by al-‘Ala’i ‘Ali bin al-Nasiri Muhammad bin Tashbugha. It is witnessed at the bottom by a certain Ibrahim bin ‘Umar al-Damiri. On the other side in a fainter hand is the record of another financial transaction carried out by Tahgribirdi al-Qadiri in his capacity as Amir Ustadar.
