Arabic manuscript on ivory paper, 396ff. plus two fly-leaves, each folio with 17ll. of neat black naskh, text panels outlined in gold and black, double black outer rules, catchwords, gold and polychrome illuminated medallions in the margins marking hizb, sajjda and nisf, sura headings in red on gold illuminated panels, opening bifolio with dense gold and polychrome illumination surrounding 7ll. of naskh in clouds reserved against gold ground, in contemporaneous green velvet and brown morocco binding, doublures of brown morocco, in a nielloed silver box formed as a mosque
