A Victorian four-piece tea and coffee service,
of tapering circular form and on plain rising circular bases, each chased with vines, flowers, foliage and strapwork and engraved with monograms, with elaborate scrolling foliate handles and moulded everted rims, the teapot and coffee pot with part-fluted foliate-decorated rising curved spouts and flat hinged covers with finials modelled as rampant heraldic lions holding shields, the milk jug and sugar basin gilt-lined, in a plush-lined mahogany carrying case with brass handle and cartouche, the latter engraved with a monogram, Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1889 and 1890 - height of coffee pot 11in. (28cm.), 79.25oz. (4)
