Lot Essay

Known as Jack Heuer favourite model, the reference 1158 was launched in 1969. It is deeply linked with Ferrari Formula 1 team and the very best drivers of the era. In fact, Heuer went under a partnership with Ferrari from 1971 until 1979 during which the Ferrari team benefited from Heuer's timekeeping instruments, all Ferrari Formula 1 driver receiving an 18K yellow gold automatic Carrera.

This Carrera model is a perfect example of Heuer subtle design with the black edges of the hands matching up with the black edges of the hour markers.

The present example is part of the second version of the reference 1158 CHN: a champagne dial with black registers featuring a white date disc and black numerals.
