Lot Essay

As Patek Philippe's first self-winding timepiece allying the chronograph and annual calendar complications, reference 5960 quickly grasped the attention of collectors and became one of the most popular modern watches of the manufacture.

The present wristwatch is amongst the most collectible variants of the reference, featuring a highly attractive and elegant black dial. The appeal is enhanced by its excellent overall condition and the presence of the original certificate and box. To the best of our knowledge, it has never been offered in public before.

Launched in 2006, reference 5960 was Patek Philippe's first self-winding chronograph with an annual calendar and the in-house calibre CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H.
