Reference 5396 was introduced to the market in 2006 and pays tribute to the firm's celebrated Calatrava model, launched in the 1930s. The smooth white gold case is of the distinctive, classic round Calatrava style of reference 96 and stands out by its large size. The appealing graphic design of the dial reminds of the much sought-after reference 3448. Introducing a striking new design, reference 5396G differs from the other annual calendar models: for the first time, this patented mechanism features twin in-line day and month apertures beneath 12 o'clock.

With its modern yet ageless design, reference 5396 immediately became a classic amongst collectors.
