Details
Comte Georges de Vogüé, Bonnes-Mares 1999
Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits
Tasting note: October 2017 at the Domaine from half bottle. Expressive nose of more secondary aromas of bread, some bell pepper. A typicity I have seen in more 99s. Still quite reserved. Needs air. Uplifting aromas.
On the palet pure berry fruit, as if you crush a blue-berry between your teeth.
The finish has a slight alcohol tone followed by liqorish fruit and lots of energy. Smooth mouthfeel, onctuous even. Remarkable structure. Strong wine with autumn forest character.
Big difference in style with the Amoureuses 1999. Another example of the greatness of this vintage. E.V.
