A SUPERB RUBY AND DIAMOND BRACELET, BY FAIDEE
Unlike most brilliant cuts, with traditional kite or star-shaped facets, the emerald cut bears rectangular facets resembling that of stairs or steps, also known as, a step cut. Surely these facets emit brilliance and scintillation, but in a much subtler manner. Jewellers usually prefer to carve brilliant-cut gemstones because the larger number of facets makes it easier to accentuate the fire of a stone. In addition, only exceptionally high clarity gemstones would be considered for step cuts since they have a large table and lack fire, making it difficult to mask any inclusions. With the diminishing yields from Mogok Valley in Burma in recent years, to find even a handful of rubies of such calibre is already a revelation; but to find 60 of them is nothing short of a miracle (in the jewellery industry)! Collected and created by none other than the extraordinary Faidee, a name that equates to the rarest and most exceptional gemstones. Faidee was founded by Mr. Roop Chand Lunia in the early 1900s; his ability to foresee the potential of a rough made him one of the most legendary gem dealers of his time, earning him the title ‘King of Burmese Rubies.’ Known for his vast collection of the highest quality Burmese rubies, every piece created exudes exclusivity and perfection. This is made possible from a reserve cache of special rough and polished rubies, exquisite beyond imagination that is kept in their trophy collection. Lot 2058, embellished with 60 emerald-cut rubies, radiates fire no less than normal brilliant-cut gemstones. After 25 years, Faidee has finally produced a bracelet with such remarkable rubies.

A SUPERB RUBY AND DIAMOND BRACELET, BY FAIDEE
The five-row highly articulated bracelet set with sixty graduated octagonal-shaped rubies, alternating with rectangular and square-shaped diamonds, mounted in platinum and gold, 17.0 cm, in black Faidee case
Signed and with maker's mark for Faidee
Accompanied by report no. 92893 dated 26 June 2017 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the rubies are of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and the colour of part of these rubies may also be called 'pigeon blood red' based on SSEF reference standards; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the ruby bracelet possesses extraordinary characteristics and merits special mention and appreciation. The rubies have been carefully selected to exhibit a beautifully matching and saturated colour and a very fine purity. The small inclusions found by microscopic inspection and the analysed properties are consistent with those of rubies originating from Mong Hsu (southeast of Mogok) and the Mogok Valley (No. 31: central ruby in the bracelet). Their attractive and saturated colour- for part of these rubies (analysed unset) poetically referred to as 'pigeons blood red' - is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements, which are characteristic for the finest rubies from Burma (Myanmar). Assembling a selection of natural rubies from Burma of this quality and matching colour can be considered rare and exceptional

Report no. 16091135 dated 28 June 2018 from the Gübelin GemLab stating that the rubies are of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and that some of the rubies are called pigeon blood red

Accompanied by forty-two reports dated from 15 January 2014 to 9 August 2016 from the GIA Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamonds range from D to F colour, flawless to VVS2 clarity
