According to the current owner, this paintings was directly acquired from the artist. The current owner met Wu Guanzhong years ago in Beijing. After immigrating to Hong Kong, he assisted the artist in organizing selling exhibitions in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Macau in the late 1980s-early 1990s.

Wu Guanzhong drew inspiration from nature and visited many famous mountains, including those in Yandang, Wuyi, Qingcheng, and Zhangjiajie, all of which appear in his artworks. Landscape in Mount Qingcheng depicts Mount Qingcheng, one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Taoism.

The painting is rich with lush landscapes yet its composition is well-balanced. Temples and pavilions are hidden among tall trees and dusky shades, as winding paths leading to the secluded haven scatter over the dense forest. Tranquility dwells among the intricate composition filled with verdant pavilions, mountainous temple gates, and stone steps. Even hibiscus flowers bloom serenely. This painting, with its verdant and placid landscape, gives the viewer a sense of calmness and peace.
