Lot Essay

The fascination the artist feels for materials such as metal and glass is reflected in Christophe Côme’s large body of work and plays an important role in defining his identity as a designer. Having learned the metal casting processes from sculptor Louis Derbré, Côme started including glass cuts in his work following a visit to a glass studio in 1995, when the artist was simultaneously creating his first furniture forms.
