A PAINTED ENAMEL 'DRAGON AND BATS' DISH
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The interior of the dish is decorated with a forward-facing dragon chasing a flaming pearl amidst blue, pink, red, and green clouds within a key-fret border, beneath a band of alternating bats and lotus in the cavetto. The reverse is decorated with three dragons chasing flaming pearls on a yellow ground, and the base is decorated with an archaistic phoenix roundel.
