A CARVED WHITE BOTTLE VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The globular body is carved with two chilong clambering amidst a wide band of leafy peony meander bearing large blossoms below an incised diamond band on the shoulder, and the tall neck which flares slightly towards the rim is encircled by a bow-string band that separates narrow bands of scrolls and ruyi heads below from a wide band of upright leaves above, all under a clear glaze of faint blue hue below the white rim. An apocryphal Chenghua mark is on the base.
