A DOUCAI 'MARRIAGE' BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is decorated to the exterior with a continuous scene of ducks in a lotus pond, below a band of dragons chasing flaming pearls in underglaze blue to the rim. The interior is decorated with a central roundel enclosing a pair of ducks in a lotus pond and the rim is painted with a band of lanca characters.
6 ½ in. (16.5 cm.) diam.
