Together with Daniel Gouers, Jean George and Jean Ducrollay, Hardivilliers was without doubt one the most inventive and celebrated gold box makers of the Louis XV period. There are several examples of gold-mounted hardstone boxes by Hardivilliers in museums and collections around the world.
