the rising circular bases, tapering columns, waisted sockets and shaped circular drip pans and nozzles applied with rococo shell and scrolling foliate borders, the elaborate branches decorated with foliage, reeding and trailing vines, unmarked, circa 1825 - 23½in. (59.75cm.)

Lot Essay

This pair of candelabra, originally the property of the Duke of Hamilton, were purchased at the sale of the Duke's effects at Lennoxlove, East Lothian, lot 203, Sotheby's, 24th June, 1980.
