Lot Essay

Né à Brême en Lombardie, Giuseppe Parvis (1831-1909) étudie à l'Academia Albertina de Turin et s'installe au Caire où il se spécialise dans la fabrication de meubles de style égyptien et maure, comme la vitrine que nous présentons. Il acquiert une renommée internationale après les Expositions universelles à Paris en 1867, à Philadelphie en 1876, à Milan en 1881 et à Turin en 1884.
