Lot Essay
The present watch is fresh to the market and impresses with the highly elegant combination of the lavishly diamond-set white gold case, bracelet and black dial with oversized date, one of A. Lange & Söhne's signature features.
The dial is set with 146 diamonds of approx. 0.71 cts., the case, including bezel and sides, with 244 Top Wesselton diamonds of approx. 1.78 cts. and lastly the bracelet with 434 diamonds of approx. 7 cts.
Ref. 868.032, one of A. Lange & Söhne's decorated timepieces, was made in the early 2000s in an exceedingly small series only. Besides its impressive diamond setting it is distinguished by the blued steel hands, as opposed to the yellow gold version of the standard model.
The present “Cabaret Soirée” was sold in Europe and is, to the best of our knowledge, the first example of this model to appear at public auction to date.
A. Lange & Söhne first introduced the Cabaret model in 1997, its rectangular case design paying tribute to the geometrical elegance of the Art Deco style from the 1920 and 30s.
