A finely engineered early 19th Century model single cylinder four pillar table engine, with cylinder 1½in. bore x 3¼in. stroke, shaped crosshead in tapered, webbed guides, centrally mounted valve chest with separate steamways, eccentric and quadrant operated valve with barrelled side rods and tail shaft guide, the tapered drive rod mounted in pedestal bearings, inlet manifold with main stop and governor valves, the whole mounted on a cast table supported on four turned columns, belt driven Watt governor and linkage, the shaped connecting rods with tapered crosshead, crankshaft mounted in pedestal trunnions with split brasses with oil pots, spoked flywheel and pulley with hand operated drive mechanism (defective), cast bed, finished in polished brightwork and brown, wood plinth with handles -- 20½ x 16½in. (52 x 41.8cm.). Brass bound glazed cover
