AN EXCEPTIONAL PRIVATE COLLECTION
Christie’s is delighted to present a compelling collection, lots 94-214, of wines from the London cellar of a sophisticated collector. The collection opens with an impressive offering of pre-and post-war Bordeaux from the finest châteaux, including Haut Brion 1929 and Mouton-Rothschild 1924 and 1945. We then move into the great Bordeaux vintages of the latter half of the 20th century, focusing on legendary wines like Haut Brion 1989, Lafleur 1982 and Mouton-Rothschild 1986.
Outside of Bordeaux, superb Burgundy features in the form of Henri Jayer’s famous Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1985, Rousseau’s Chambertin 1993 and Coche-Dury’s inimitable Corton-Charlemagne 1996. Of final note is a selection of Champagne from Krug including mature vintages back to the early 1970s and Clos du Mesnil and Clos d’Ambonnay. This superlative collection has been well-cellared in a purpose-built, temperature and humidity controlled cellar in London until release to Christie’s.
