Lot Essay

Arguably one of Hitchcock's best films, this poster contains all the key elements which are absent from the poster for the original release. The title treatment provides elements of Saul Bass design from opening title sequence, and the artwork features Roger Thornhill chased by the cropduster as well as Mount Rushmore from the film's dramatic climax; and finally, with typical Hithcockian wit, the director himself is seen carved into the landmark edifice.
