Lot Essay

The present specimen is an exceedingly rare example of the reference 540 "hooded" lugs. According to our researches, its believed that 60 pieces were produced from which about 40 in pink gold. Only 10 pink gold examples are known to have survived, out of 4 with a pink dial. The rarity of the timepiece is further enhanced by its very good overall condition.
